Ryan Foster, AIA

Principal

Ryan Foster has over 20 years of professional experience working on residential design and historic restoration. He was a principal at McGinley Kalsow and Associates Preservation Architects in Boston, MA for 13 years. Ryan has his Undergraduate Degree from the University of Vermont and his Masters in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College. Ryan holds a license for Architecture in Vermont and Massachusetts.

Ryan lives with his wife, Kate, and two sons, Felix and Lewis, and in Landgrove, VT.

Erik Christensen, Associate AIA

Associate

Mr. Christensen has 26 years of industry experience in architecture, engineering, construction, real estate, planning, and development. He has over 15 years of experience in the evaluation and preservation of historic buildings, particularly of wood and masonry construction. During his career he has successfully planned, designed, and managed projects for diverse client and market types including historic preservation, adaptive reuse, higher education, secondary education, mixed use, Owner’s Project Management (strategic planning), health care, life science, commercial/industrial, advanced technology, clean room manufacturing, hospitality, food service, multi-family residential, theater and performance, and the cruise ship industry. Areas of expertise include project and design process management, existing conditions surveys and documentation, design documentation (plans and specifications), preservation detailing, code reviews, accessibility reviews, and public bid management.

Mr. Christensen has a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Notre Dame where he concentrated on traditional and Classical approaches to design and urban planning. He also participated in the Notre Dame Rome Studies Program in Classical Architecture.
